cancellation policy for individual bookings
We think it's good ethical practice to offer a clear guarantee and clear cancellation policy before people book. So here is our cancellation policy. We think it's clear but if you have any questions do come back to us.
Update on the 20th April, 2017. We have extended the cancellation period from one week to two. We have noticed that one week is not enough time to recruit more people to the course. It's often too short notice for people on the waiting list or even on the standby list to respond. Of course we will honour all previous cancellation agreements issued before this date.
You can cancel or transfer to another course up to 14 days before hand with no charge and you will get a full refund. We won't charge you any admin fees or other fees at all.
However if you cancel less than 14 days before a course or if you don't turn up on the day we cannot offer a refund or transfer. So there will be NO REFUNDS and/or NO FREE transfers to other courses.
You are paying for that particular place on that course which won't be filled if you cancel at short notice and you not showing means that the group will be smaller and other people get less of a public speaking experience. When you buy a theatre ticket and you don't turn up that seat is empty. It's the same on my courses. And course bookings are the only money we get. So I'm sorry to say there are NO exceptions to this.
So please, please, please let me or Rebecca know as early as possible if it looks like you can't make the date so that we can do our very best to fill your place.
If we DO get a replacement you can transfer to another course. You could always send a friend or another family member but tell me first!
When you book it might be worth taking out a course cancellation insurance or checking with your home or travel insurance to see if you are covered in the event of a travel delay or travel failure, bereavement or illness of yours or a close relative if you cancel at short notice.
We feel meanies when we don't refund you if you or your child are ill but we are a small business and our only money comes from course fees. So please insure yourself and tell us early if you can't make it. We will do our best to get a replacement for you but we can't guarantee we will get you one.
Course cancellation by me
Please be aware that I might have to cancel a course because of shortage of numbers, illness or other factors. Of course I will do my best not to do it. In fact it's really very rare. But it's worthwhile booking hotel rooms etc that can be cancelled. Please note that I'm not liable for additional expenses. If I have to cancel, you will be offered a course refund or to transfer to another course.
